Waste Pesticide Collection
Time & Location
About the Event
A wide variety of pesticides are applied and held in storage in many parts of Oregon. Old and unused pesticides can accidentally enter waterways through leaching, flooding, or runoff. Chemicals collected from this area are properly disposed of and eliminated as future threats to water quality. This is an opportunity for landowners and other commercial pesticide users to remove, free of charge, unwanted materials. Help protect your water, air, and soil by bringing your old and unused pesticides to this free collection event for proper disposal.
Safely dispose of outdated or unusable pesticides, or recycle clean, triple-washed plastic containers on March 16, 2019.
Agricultural, commercial, forestry, and institutional waste pesticides in Jefferson, Crook, or Deschutes Counties will be accepted. You must register with the chemical disposal contractor so they can prepare to receive and manage the chemicals. The registration form can be obtained on-line at: http://oregonstate.edu/dept/coarc/ OR http://www.oregon.gov/ODA/programs/Pesticides/Water/Pages/PesticideStewardship.aspx
Chemicals not used in pesticide products (e.g., fertilizers) will NOT be accepted. For registration questions, call Kirk Cook (541-841-0074) or Kevin Masterson (541-633-2005).
