Willow Creek Planting & Restoration Project
Time & Location
About the Event
Some of you attended our event last month where we successfully planted 3000 willow and cottonwood sticks on Scabby Hollow Ranch with our friends at the Oregon Natural Desert Association. The plants are leafing out nicely now and moisture levels are holding strong in this portion of Willow creek. ONDA has offered to donate additional sticks to plant on the site and the watershed council has decided to host another volunteer planting party on Willow creek next Wednesday!
Help us restore healthy fish habitat by replanting native riparian vegetation along Willow Creek! The section of creek that we will be helping replant provides a critical linkage for the seasonal movements of redband trout moving between their high altitude headwaters in the Ochoco National Forest to their low elevation habitat in the Crooked River National Grasslands.
Bring a lunch and gloves if you have them. Tools, snacks, and coffee will be provided! Note that we will be planting in areas that may be wet and muddy, so wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Please RSVP to email@example.com or 541-699-3202 for details and directions to Scabby Hollow Ranch.
